HOME HELP SERVICES
Home Help Services is a program administered by the Michigan Department of Health and Humen Services (MDHHS). The program provides funding for qualified individuals to hire someone to assist them with their daily activities. It is designed to support individuals who wish to live independently in their home rather than live in an adult foster care, home of the aged or nursing facility.
Available Services

Home Help Services may pay for the following activities of daily living:
- Eating or feeding
- Bathing
- Grooming
- Moving throughout the home.
- Transferring from one position to another.
- Using the toilet.
- Administering or setting up medicine.
- Laundry
- Light housekeeping
- Meal preparation/clean up.
Eligibility
Eligibility
To receive Home Help Services, an individual must:
- Have active Medicaid.
- Require physical assistance to perform at least one activity of daily living.
Assessment of Need
Assessment of Need
The Adult Services worker and a Touching Angels case manager will meet with the client to conduct a comprehensive assessment to determine what services are needed and the amount of time it takes to complete each task.

Services Not Covered
The following services are not covered by Home Help Program.
- Heavy housework
- Home repair
- Prompting or reminding someone to complete task
- Supervision
- Transportation
- Yard work
